When We Are Closed
NEMS is responsible for out of hours care for our practice patients - this is based at Primary Care 24 (PC24) next to the Accident and Emergency Department at Kings Mill Hospital.
If you need to see a doctor urgently when the surgery is closed please telephone NHS 111
They will pass a message to their doctor on duty, who may phone you to assess your problem. You might be asked to attend the out-of-hours clinic, or receive a home visit.
Alternatively you can visit their website.
NHS 111 offers free expert health information and advice 24 hours a day.
It can advise you whether you need to go to the nearest A&E (accident and emergency) or if there is an alternative such as visiting an NHS walk-in centre.
The nearest NHS walk-in centre is located at Primary 24, Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield Rd, Sutton in Ashfield, Notts, NG17 4JL.
NHS walk-in centres provide advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses and injuries.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
